The 4th Annual Iowa Vestibular Symposium: From Symptoms to Systems in Vestibular Care
January 16-17, 2027
The Iowa Vestibular Symposium started with a simple idea: What if we brought people together who are passionate about vestibular care and gave them a space to learn, collaborate, and nerd out about all things vestibular?
Kirsten Radke reached out to Lisa Brekke with the idea of creating an event that would bring together multiple disciplines with a shared passion for helping individuals with dizziness and balance disorders. That conversation became the beginning of the Iowa Vestibular Symposium.
What started as an idea between two clinicians has grown into an interdisciplinary continuing education event designed to bring together healthcare professionals from different backgrounds to share knowledge, challenge clinical thinking, and learn from one another.
The symposium goes beyond traditional vestibular rehabilitation, exploring the many factors that can contribute to dizziness and complex presentations, including vestibular disorders, concussion, migraine, vision, neurologic conditions, functional neurological disorders, and autonomic dysfunction.
Lisa and Kirsten develop the speaker lineup and sponsorship opportunities with the goal of creating an engaging, collaborative experience where clinicians can learn from experts, share their passion, and most importantly nerd out together about vestibular care.
The Iowa Vestibular Symposium is held in Des Moines, Iowa, in partnership with Des Moines University for continuing education services and event space.
More than just vestibular. It’s a community built around curiosity, collaboration, and a shared passion for helping patients navigate complex conditions.
